Cutting Severely scratching skin Burning Scalding yourself Punching things (to cause injuries) Sticking objects into skin Hitting yourself Banging your head Intentionally preventing wounds from healing Swallowing poisonous substances. Throwing their bodies against walls or hard objects Cuts or burns are usually found on their wrists, arms, shoulder, thighs or chest. People cut or burn these areas so that other people cannot see their scars. Usually people who commit self-harm try to keep it a secret so that their peers do not judge them (Cutting and Self-Harm). |
